Terms

Effective July 17, 2026. These terms cover this project website. The BeforeDone source code and release artifacts are licensed separately under the Apache License 2.0 included in the repository.

No warranty

BeforeDone is provided on an “as is” basis, without warranties or conditions of any kind. A receipt is evidence that a configured command produced a recorded result for a recorded file state. It is not a guarantee that software is correct, secure, complete, or fit for a particular purpose.

Trust boundary

BeforeDone is a process guardrail, not remote attestation or a sandbox. A malicious same-user process with access to the repository can read or replace the local receipt key, configuration, and runtime evidence, and can manufacture a self-consistent PASS. Checks and explicit replay execution are not network-isolated.

Your checks and artifacts

You control the commands that BeforeDone runs and are responsible for reviewing repository configuration before execution. You are also responsible for the content you include in logs, reports, replay cases, issues, and other shared artifacts.

Project name and marks

The Apache-2.0 license permits use of the code but does not grant permission to present a modified or unrelated product as the official BeforeDone product. See the repository's trademark policy.

Why Apache-2.0

MIT and Apache-2.0 are both permissive licenses that allow commercial use, modification, and redistribution. Apache-2.0 additionally provides an explicit patent license and clearer contribution and notice rules. Release archives include the applicable third-party notices.

Third-party services

This site links to services operated by others. Their availability and terms are outside the BeforeDone project's control.

Changes
